About Me


Averil Hall, a member of the News Photographers Association of Canada, is an award-winning freelance photographer. Her work has appeared in the national press as well as Saskatchewan dailies. In addition to her primary work for SaskToday, her work has also been featured in Cut Knife, Meadow Lake and Prince Albert newspapers. Her photos have also appeared in Prairie North magazine and in a National Film Board documentary.
Assignments of note include the Gerald Stanley murder trial, Prime Minister Trudeau’s visit to Poundmaker First Nation to exonerate Chief Poundmaker and the local coverage of two homeless First Nation individuals from North Battleford who were given bus tickets to go to Vancouver. Her coverage of the Shiloh Baptist Church north of Maidstone, SK has garnered much attention.
Averil particularly enjoys taking sports, event and hard news photos. Lately Averil has opened up her business to providing Head Shots and Real Estate Photos.
